2/16/2020 - Annual Congregational Meeting - 1:20pm

Quorum: A quorum was established with 22 members present.
TE David Hina called the meeting to order and opened in prayer.
TE David Hina began with a discussion of the Mission of the church as stated in Matthew 28:18-20.
He continued with a review of what is a disciple and our calling to "be disciples, making disciples."
He provided an explanation of the Mission Statement of PPC and the current work of review the Vision of PPC.
TE David Hina provided a comparison of the elements of the Mission Statement, the results of a survey of the church membership, and the corresponding exhortations in Scripture.
He then led us into a review of the Resources currently available to PPC:
People: including membership, discipleship ministries, supported missionaries, ministry teams, small group Bible studies
Facility: provides freedom for ministry focus, plans for updates and maintenance
Finances:
Overview of budget vs. actual income for 2019 and budget for 2020
Details on Missions giving and current balances
TE David Hina began a review of the work of restructuring the ministry teams and to thank the members of the congregation that contributed to that work. The outcome of that work was the formation/revision of 5 ministry teams with clarifying documents for each.
TE David Hina then outlined how the Ministry Teams fit within the structure of Officer-led Ministry with the current elders and looking toward having deacons as well.
TE David Hina communicated several initiatives that have come out of the work of the ministry teams:
Worship Environment: create a worshipful/reverent environment before and during worship service, altering the current schedule, beginning on 3/8/2020, as follows:
9:30 - 10:30 Sunday School
10:40 Music in Sanctuary to set atmosphere
10:45 Announcements, concluding with reading of “Reflection”
10:50 Prelude
12:15 People encourage to remain after service for fellowship
Facilitating Family Worship: renovation of the current “cry room”
Outreach to Schools: desire to begin involvement with Pinwheel Tutoring Program by adding this ministry to children from Murphy or Peachtree Elementary Schools
TE David Hina requested that everyone check their end-of-year giving statements because there have been some discrepancies.
Steve Yount made a motion to adjourn; second by Bill Oakley; all were in favor.
TE David Hina concluded the meeting with prayers of thanksgiving for the Lord's provision and supplication for the Lord's leading us in service to Him.
The meeting concluded at 2:30pm.
