3/24/2019 - Annual Congregational Meeting - 12:45pm

Quorum: A quorum was established with 23 members present.

  • TE David Hina called the meeting to order and called for nominations for a clerk.
  • Carol Sutton nominated RE Wil Meiners to serve as perpetual clerk for congregation meetings; second by Al McAllister; all were in favor.
  • TE David Hina opened in prayer.
  • TE David Hina began with a discussion of the Mission of the church as stated in Matthew 28:18-20.
  • He continued with a review of what is a disciple and our calling to "be disciples, making disciples."
  • He provided an explanation of the Mission Statement of PPC and the current work of review the Vision of PPC.
  • He then led us into a review of the Resources currently available to PPC:
    • People: including membership, discipleship ministries, supported missionaries and ministries
    • Facility
    • Finances:
      • Several members were asked by the session to assist in developing a budget for 2019
      • Overview of budget vs. actual income for 2018 and budget for 2019
      • Rich Carver pointed out the addition of a budget item for an Administrative Assistant to relieve TE David Hina of some of the clerical work he does on a weekly basis.
      • TE David Hina communicated a plan to gain input from Ministry Teams later regarding financial needs for ministry, which will lead to adjustments to the budget.
  • TE David Hina began a review of the current Ministry Teams and the work of restructuring the ministry teams to better fit the ministry needed and to include leadership of the teams by the members of the congregation.
  • TE David Hina then outlined the need to review the Vision of PPC, the work of the Ministry Planning Team, the Survey that each member is being requested to complete in order to gather information toward this end, and the follow-up individual/family interviews.
  • TE David Hina shared the plan for using data gathered to produce a Vision Statement that can be used to provided guidance for PPC for the next 3-5 years and help shape the Ministry Teams.
  • Al McAllister made a motion to adjourn; second by Rich Carver; all were in favor.
  • TE David Hina concluded the meeting with a time of prayers of thanksgiving for the Lord's provision and supplication for the Lord's leading us in service to Him.
  • The meeting concluded at 1:45pm.
