2/6/2022 - Congregational Meeting -1:25 pm

Location: Providence Presbyterian Church

Moderator: TE David Hina

Clerk: RE Wil Meiners

Quorum: Established with 20 members present.

TE David Hina introduced himself as moderator and RE Wil Meiners as clerk; there were no objections.

TE David Hina opened in prayer.

TE David Hina began with a discussion of who we are, forgiven and therefore reconciled with God (Col. 1:21, Rom. 5:10-11) and with one another (Eph. 2:14, 16, 19) and arranged as one body with many parts (1 Cor. 12:18-21, 27). He continued with a discussion of what we do when the body is hurting, not ignoring the problems we experience, but caring for the needs of one another. We as a church have experienced a decrease in our gathering, our membership, and our giving. TE David Hina then raised the question, “What is the Lord doing?,” looking to John 17 - “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” and to Eph. 5:25-27 “…that he might sanctify her…” He concluded this section with these action items: Persevere (Luke 9:62, Heb. 10:23-25), Assess Basics (Eph. 4:12-13), Assess Leadership (Heb. 13:17).

TE David Hina next discussed what is most important, the People, emphasizing the importance of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, discipleship, shepherding, and worship of the Lord.

TE David Hina continued with a review of what happened in 2021, highlighting the re-engagement of the ministry teams, the standing up of a Mercy Ministry Team, the establishment of a Library. He reviewed the missions support during 2021. He then provided a 2021 Financial Overview.

TE David Hina then moved into a presentation of the Budget-Expense: 2021 vs. 2022, highlighting a few areas of increase. He pointed out that we are looking to the Lord to provide, in laying out a budget that is ~20% higher than last year.

TE David Hina concluded with a look forward at what we are planning for 2022, particularly discipleship opportunities, ministry opportunities, Garth working toward transferring ordination to the PCA, adding the Moores as supported missionaries, infrastructure improvements, repairs, and the addition of a picnic pavilion.

TE David Hina opened the floor for questions. There was a question about the sign at the bottom of the driveway and some discussion of plans to replace the sign.

TE David Hina opened the floor for a time of prayer.

TE David Hina closed in prayer.

We adjourned at 2:20 pm.
