2/11/18 - Annual Called Congregational Meeting

TE David Hina called the meeting to order.
There were 19 communicant members present, representing a quorum.
Member Steve Yount nominated RE Wil Meiners to serve as clerk; second by member Carol Sutton; there were no objections.
TE David Hina opened in prayer.
TE David Hina began with a review of the mission of the church as stated by Christ in the Great Commission and the Mission Statement adopted by the Session, which seeks to apply the Great Commission to our particular context.
TE David Hina reviewed the definition of discipleship.
TE David Hina reviewed the Resources we have at Providence, beginning with the people, including the membership, the discipleship ministries, the support for missions, and the facility.
TE David Hina continued to review the Resources we have at Providence, providing a financial overview and continuing with an overview of the 2017 Budget, 2017 Actual Expenses, and the 2018 Budget.
TE David Hina reviewed the Resources we have at Providence, particularly the Mercy Fund and its use. This led to discussion of ways to engage further in giving toward this and expanding our ministry, particularly toward the Friendship house. Member Mary Yount nominated Steve Yount and Don Forakre to a Benevolence Team.
TE David Hina shared the role and vision for our Ministry Teams.
TE David Hina spoke about the purpose, membership, ministry of the Mission Team from 2017, and Plans for 2018.
TE David Hina spoke about the purpose, membership, ministry of the Hospitality & Outreach Team from 2017, and Plans for 2018.
RE Wil Meiners spoke about the purpose, membership, ministry of the Worship & Communications Team from 2017, and Plans for 2018.
RE Terry Frederick spoke about the purpose, membership, ministry of the Education Team from 2017, and Plans for 2018.
TE David Hina spoke about the purpose, membership, ministry of the Physical Maintenance Team from 2017, and Plans for 2018. Steve Yount suggested we change the codes on the church door locks an the shed and that we purchase a camera/intercom for security purposes. Mary Yount requested that we add speakers to several areas of the church in order to hear the service. Marilyn Frederick requested that the Mission Statement be printed and posted throughout the building.
Don Fourakre made a motion to adjourn; second by Jen Stockbridge; all were in favor.
