David is married to Amy, who is originally from Illinois. The Hina’s have three children: Kali, Mei Mei, and Caleb. David served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer for 5 years, and then as a Project Manager and software engineer at SPAWAR Systems Center in San Diego for 14 years before being called into full-time ministry. Prior to coming to Providence, David was served as a Pastoral Intern at Town North Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX, and he has taught in several different capacities and other roles within the church over the past 17 years.
